Three of the most important museum exhibitions of the Dolomites, have been hosted for over 25 years by Ciasa de ra Regoles, a historic building located in the heart of the Cortina d'Ampezzo resort. This edifice is located in behind of Cortina d'Ampezzo Skiing School (Scuola Sci Cortina). The entrance to all museums are on Corso Italia.
The Paleontology Museum Rinaldo Zardini is hosting the most important private collections of fossils dating back 220 to 230 million years. The museum reconstructs the life and environment of tropical seas the Dolomites were born from, through exhibits and fossil evidence found in mountain rocks of the Dolomites.
The Ethnographic Museum of Ampezzo valley collects old objects, evidence of rural life in the area. Old Faith and religious customs are presented as well as exhibits of artistic expression on Ampezzo valley. Pastoral life at Ampezzo occupies an important place in the museum themes and exhibits.
Mario Rimoldi Museum of Modern Art exhibits one of the largest private collections of figurative art of the twentieth century Italian school. The galleries exhibit over 300 works of art made by great Italian painters in the early twentieth century: De Chirico, Campigli, Sironi, Guttuso, De Pisis, Music, Savinio, Tomea, Morandi and many others.
